Also known as "The InGen Incident", The Isla Nublar incident was one of the biggest catastrophe's in the Jurassic Park series and takes place during the first film/novel.

The Cause

After Dennis Nedry shuts the park down in order to steal dinosaur embryos for a rival genetics company, the loss of power causes the dinosaurs to escape and wreck the park John Hammond dreamed of into a nightmare as the rest of the endorsement team struggle to battle the parks carnivores. After the T-Rex damages the main hall and saves the rest of the survivors Hammond shows up in a jeep and takes to the helipad and are taking back to the mainland. The park was dismantled and the dinosaurs were left to die due to lysine necessity because they required a dose of lysine every day.

The Aftermath

Costa Rican military moved in to destroy all the dinosaurs on Isla Nublar. In the end the island is suddenly and violently 'cleaned' by the Costa Rican Air Force. The survivors are told that Malcolm has succumbed to his injuries and died (Although he is shown to have survived in the sequel The Lost World). Survivors of the incident are indefinitely detained by the United States and Costa Rican governments. However, reports have surfaced from a Costa Rican doctor that an unknown pack of animals has been eating crops rich in lysine (the molecule the animals were designed to be deficient in) and killing livestock as they migrate toward the Costa Rican jungle.

This was all followed by the events of The Lost World.
