Apatosaurus was a diplodocid Sauropod Dinosaur that lived in the Late Jurassic Period of North America. It was discovered by Edward Drinker Cope during the famous Bone Wars. It was discovered a few years later again by Othniel Charles Marsh, Cope's rival, and named Brontosaurus, which many people know it as. The name was officially designated to Apatosaurus in 1975.
In Jurassic Park
Apatosaurus was not in the movies, replaced by Brachiosaurus instead, but was featured in the novel version. It was also originally intended to be put in Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis, but was cut out.
